Biography

Kostis Hatzidakis is Minister of Labor and Social Affairs in the Greek government, Member of the Greek National Parliament and vice-president of New Democracy.
He was born in Rethymno, Crete in 1965. He studied at the Law School of the University of Athens and completed postgraduate studies in Political Communication at University of Kent. He speaks English and French.
He has been president of the Youth Organisation of New Democracy (ONNED) from 1992 to 1994 and Member of the European Parliament from 1994 to 2007. Since 2007 he has been a member of the Greek National Parliament
He has served as Minister of Transport from 2007 to 2009, Minister of Development from 2012 to 2014 and Minister of Environment and Energy from July 2019 to January 2021.
