Biography
Alessandro Perego is Vice Rector for Sustainable Development and Societal Impact at Politecnico di Milano, where he also serves as Full Professor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the Department of Management Engineering. He is member of the university’s Executive Board and previously served as Director of the Department of Management Engineering.
Honored as Cavaliere dell’Ordine al merito della Repubblica Italiana for his support to the Municipality and Prefecture of Milan during the Covid-19 pandemic, he is founder and Scientific Director of Sustainable Food Lab, as well as Founding Member of Fondazione Banco Alimentare. He is also Scientific Director of Digital Innovation Observatories - a team of nearly two hundred professors, researchers, and analysts working on more than fifty different Digital Innovation Observatories - which he co-founded in 1999.
For over twenty-five years, he has focused on strategic analysis of digital technologies in areas such as eCommerce, Smart Manufacturing and Logistics, Digital Agenda, Digital Supply Chain, Artificial Intelligence and the intersection of Digital and Sustainability.
Author and co-author of more than 150 publications on digital innovation and the design and management of logistics and production systems, he is Founder, shareholder, and Board Member of Digital360 SpA, Chairman of AMAT (the Environment, Mobility, and Territory Agency of the City of Milan), Honorary Chairman of Number1 Logistics and Board Member of Tesisquare.
