Biography
Antoine Kasel is a senior EU policymaker with extensive experience in economic, financial, budgetary and social affairs at both national and European level. He holds a Master’s degree in Belgian law, an LL.M. in European law, and a post-master certificate in Luxembourgish law. He has held several senior roles within the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance, including as Financial Counsellor at the Permanent Representation of Luxembourg to the EU and Head of the ECOFIN Unit. Antoine Kasel has represented Luxembourg in key EU bodies such as the Economic and Finance Committee, the Euro Working Group, and Council Budget Committees, and played an active role in major EU negotiations, including the Multiannual Financial Framework 2014–2020. He later served as Legal and Budgetary Advisor and EU G20 Sherpa in the Cabinet of European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, before becoming Head of Cabinet for the Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights. He is currently Director for Labour Mobility and International Affairs in DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion.
