Biography
Irene García promotes European R&D and innovation initiatives at CELSA Group, a European steel producer focused on circular production. She works on EU-funded projects under Horizon Europe and related programmes, with particular attention to sustainable metallurgy, digitalisation and energy-intensive industries. She has experience in multi-partner collaboration and in aligning innovation activities with European industrial priorities.
Her role connects industry, academia and policy, helping translate research outcomes into practical industrial applications. Through her involvement in the Skills4EII project, she supports upskilling and reskilling initiatives aimed at strengthening workforce capabilities in the context of the green and digital transition.
