Biography
Salvatore Nigro is a visionary leader for youth empowerment who currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of JA Europe. His personal journey reflects a profound dedication to fostering youth entrepreneurship and employability, and he is committed to creating opportunities for the next generation. As the head of Europe’s largest provider of education programs for entrepreneurship, work readiness, and financial literacy, Salvatore continues to inspire and embolden young leaders across the continent. His journey to this pivotal role at JA Europe came after dedicating twelve years to Education for Employment (EFE) as CEO for Europe and Global VP. There, he played a crucial role in EFE’s business development, partnership management, and program implementation across Europe, with his efforts extending to supporting operations in the Middle East and North Africa. Previously, he served in various positions at the Glocal Forum, including Director of the International Partnerships and Advocacy Department. While there, Salvatore developed various skills initiatives across the globe thanks to his experience in multi-stakeholder partnerships, involving the World Bank, UN Agencies, and Fortune 500 companies. He contributed to the organization of the largest concert for children in conflict areas, “We Are the Future,” alongside the legendary Quincy Jones. This fundraising concert for youth in these war-torn regions showcased Salvatore’s commitment to making a positive difference in the world. Salvatore started his career collaborating with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
His educational background includes an MBA from the University of Malta, an MA in International Strategic and Military Studies from LUISS-UNIMI-CASD and an MA in International Political Science from LUISS University. Salvatore’s multifaceted journey combines leadership, technology, entrepreneurship education, employment and philanthropy, making him a force for positive change on both local and global stages.
He continues to bring the voice of the next generation to the attention of global policy makers through global media such as BBC world news, Euronews, and FT adviser.
