The seminar will bring together EAfA members and stakeholders from EU Member States and ETF partner countries to strengthen apprenticeship systems by sharing practical solutions, experiences and achievements in the field.
What to expect
The annual EAfA-ETF Seminar will bring together stakeholders from government bodies, businesses, social partners, vocational education and training (VET) providers, youth associations and other relevant organisations from EU Member States and ETF partner countries that are EAfA members.
Over the course of the two-day event, participants will have the opportunity to:
- discuss practical approaches to strengthening and improving the quality of work-based learning (WBL), including apprenticeships, and promote mutual learning across countries;
- connect with EAfA members, organisations and other stakeholders through networking activities and parallel sessions; and
- take part in one of three site visits in Belgium.
Read on to discover some of the event’s expected highlights.
Day one: Spotlight on apprenticeship quality, governance and management
On 9 December, sessions will explore a range of key themes, offering an international perspective on:
- how the new VET Strategy will impact the Alliance;
- the quality of WBL, including apprenticeships, drawing on EAfA cross-country analysis; and
- the contributions that social partners, including employers and trade unions, make to apprenticeship governance and management.
The seminar will also open with a presentation on the latest EAfA developments and welcome new members and partner countries to the Alliance.
Day two: Discover how apprenticeships are delivered in Belgium
On 10 December, participants will have the opportunity to learn directly from new and longstanding EAfA members and explore how WBL is delivered at national level through:
- parallel group discussions, facilitated by the ETF, on recent national developments and priority topics;
- a presentation by representatives of the Belgian WBL system on how apprenticeships operate in the country; and
- participation in a site visit, offering first-hand insights into the delivery of apprenticeships and WBL in and around Brussels.
Why attend?
By taking part in the seminar, you will gain valuable insights into recent apprenticeship and WBL developments across EAfA member countries, as well as Belgium’s approach.
The event will also provide opportunities to build meaningful connections within the EAfA network, collaborate with peers and exchange ideas with representatives of public authorities, businesses, social partners, VET providers and youth organisations.
