EAfA releases its 2025 activities roadmap

The European Alliance for Apprenticeships (EAfA) has released its 2025 action plan to contribute to fostering quality apprenticeships in the EU and beyond. It emphasises innovation and cooperation as keys to face the challenges of a changing world.

Driving change through pledges
Members will continue promoting EAfA in their networks by sharing presentations, infographics and factsheets. Umbrella organisations will be called upon to help them in their efforts promoting apprenticeships and the work of EAfA while targeted outreach campaigns will focus on expanding the membership in underrepresented key economic sectors experiencing shortages, such as agriculture, construction, and hospitality.

Partnerships with the European Training Foundation (ETF) will further extend EAfA’s influence by fostering apprenticeship commitments in new countries and encouraging pledges from stakeholders in candidate and partner countries.

Forging connections: impactful events and partnerships
Networking will take centre stage in 2025, with high-profile events designed to connect stakeholders and inspire action. The annual high-level conference in Brussels will delve into apprenticeships' role in achieving the EU’s Clean Industrial Deal, addressing themes like labour mobility, skill recognition, and cross-border collaboration.

Complementing this, the EAfA Get-Together and the European Apprentices Network (EAN) meetings will facilitate dialogue among members and amplify apprentices’ voices. Later in the year, EAfA’s 10th annual seminar in cooperation with the ETF will provide a platform for exploring innovative approaches to apprenticeship systems in both EU Member States and partner countries.

Equipping stakeholders with cutting-edge resources
To support its members, EAfA will introduce new tools and learning materials in 2025. Highlights include a toolkit on apprenticeships for adults and factsheets on equipping trainers with the right skills and competencies, developing basic skills, and expanding higher-level apprenticeships. Two webinars will tackle critical issues such as improving working conditions and addressing gender stereotypes in apprenticeships.

The EAfA website will remain a central hub for knowledge sharing, featuring fresh news, in-depth stakeholder profiles, and an ever-growing library of over 600 resources. Quarterly newsletters and engaging social media content will continue to keep the community informed and connected.

Building momentum for a skilled and adaptable workforce
The 2025 action plan reflects EAfA’s unwavering commitment to empowering apprenticeships as a foundation for Europe’s workforce strategy. By championing collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity, the Alliance aims to strengthen its impact, foster resilience, and equip Europe’s workforce to thrive in a changing economic landscape.
