The European Commission has launched the Social Investment Knowledge Hub with the objective to promote evidence-based policymaking in labour market, skills and social policies.
The Hub was set up by the Commission in cooperation with:
- Employment Committee (EMCO)
- Social Protection Committee (SPC)
It builds on prior work done by:
- Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council (EPSCO)
- Informal Working Group on Social Investment set up under the Spanish and Belgian Council Presidencies
The Social Investment Knowledge Hub serves as a platform for the exchange of best practices with a view to enhancing the cost-effectiveness of public investment in labour market, skills and social policies and identifying measures that yield economic returns in addition to their social outcomes. It provides relevant research and evaluation tools, offers insights into support opportunities, and connects users with key contacts to facilitate collaboration and information sharing.
