The Commission welcomes Ukraine in the Employment and Social Innovation (EaSI) strand of the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+), the EU’s main instrument for investing in people.

The Commission has proposed changes to two EU funds to adapt and improve their support to people across Europe. This will help equip workers with the key skills needed in the defence industry and for the greening of the economy, and in particular workers at imminent risk of dismissal.

A call for proposals to support EU-level social NGO Networks is open between 5 February – 8 April (17:00:00 CET) 2025. It aims to set up 4-year framework partnership agreements with EU-level networks.

The Commission has proposed support for 365 workers dismissed in Belgium by the retail chain Match-Smatch with €2.7 million from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund for Displaced Workers (EGF).

The Employment and Social Innovation Programme (EaSI), which financed a wide range of activities in the period 2014-2020, was the most suitable instrument for developing EU-wide tools and actions on social innovation and employment.

The 2021 call for proposals for ‘Centres of Vocational Excellence’, under the Erasmus+ programme, has led to the selection of 13 new cross-border collaboration projects to develop excellence in vocational education and training in Europe.
