The European Commission has published its 2024 annual review of labour markets and wage developments in Europe. The report shows that the EU labour market remained strong in 2023, despite economic slowdown, with historically low unemployment and 5.5 million jobs created since 2019.

Social investments and reforms in key areas can boost employment, social inclusion, competitiveness and economic growth. This is the main finding of the Commission’s 2024 Employment and Social Developments in Europe (ESDE) report.
