20 years of Slovakia in the EU - evaluation and new challenges

The seminar was organised by MoveS in collaboration with its Slovak national expert Viktor Križan. MoveS is an EC-funded network of independent experts from 32 European countries coordinated by Eftheia and Deloitte.

The seminar was intended to mark the anniversary of Slovakia's 20 years in the European Union. In this celebratory framework the seminar drew the attention to the developments and the challenges that have been confronted by Slovakia in the area of social security coordination and free movement of workers over the past 20 years. Some presentations focused on the challenges Slovakia has faced in these areas and on the opportunities it has decided to seize, such as for instance digitalisation. Other presentations approached the subjects of SSC and FMW from a more comparative and European perspective. A final presentation focused on the Slovak disputes that were brought before the European Court of justice.
