This time in focus was the cooperation between the national and regional and local administrations.
The Vice Mayor of Rotterdam for Poverty reduction, debt counselling and language Ms Natasha MOHAMED-HOESEIN shared various examples of initiatives implemented in Rotterdam aimed at supporting families in need in a comprehensive way, including for example trainings on money management (see a video).
She also advocated for more resources at local level for implementation of measures aiming at combatting child poverty and a stronger cooperation between EU, national and local level.
The Portuguese Child Guarantee Coordinator presented on the role of local governments in implementation of the national action plan – the case of Portugal.
Representative of the European Commission’s Directorate General for Regional and Urban Policy spoke about the European Regional Development Fund’s (ERDF) possible support to the implementation of the European Child Guarantee.
During a tour de table the Child Guarantee Coordinators reflected on cooperation with regional and local authorities and provided updates as regards implementation of the European Child Guarantee in their countries.
