Description
This high-level live discussion will explore how apprenticeships can be used as a tool to support Ukrainians displaced by the war and address their educational, employment and societal needs.
The event will have two main aims:
- create awareness and maximise knowledge about how the apprenticeships community has supported Ukrainians in the EU
- encourage EAfA members to make a new pledge towards creating apprenticeship opportunities for Ukrainians in the EU
The event will also invite non-members to join the Alliance and make their first pledge.
The event will be moderated by Ana Carrero Yubero, Deputy Head of Unit − Vocational Education and Training at the Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion. The live discussion will include the following guest speakers:
- Nicolas Schmit, Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights
- Anatolii Garmash, Senior specialist in qualifications, European Training foundation
- Iryna Shumik, Director General of the Directorate of Vocational Education, Ministry of Education and Science, Ukraine
- Agne Kudarauskiene, Viceminister, Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Lithuania
- Ukrainian apprentices Oleksandra Telna and Ms Svitlana, and their trainer Eldin Catovic
