The consultation hearing offered an opportunity for EU level social partners to engage with the European Commission on the forthcoming initiative to promote social dialogue, and to discuss the proposals in view of the chapeau Communication on social dialogue.

The new call for proposals on “Social innovations for a fair green and digital transition” aims at funding 15 to 20 projects that develop and test integrated and inclusive social innovation approaches to promote a fair green and digital transition. Submission deadline is 2 August 2022.

Online voting for the 2022 European Alliance for Apprenticeships (EAfA) Awards is open until 15 May. Two candidates from each of the three awards categories (Large Companies, SMEs and Apprentices) have been shortlisted. The EAfA Awards are intended to inspire current and future Vocational education and training (VET) stakeholders, by recognising best practices in VET as well as outstanding projects.

The European Commission adopted its Partnership Agreement with Austria, laying down Austria's €1.3 billion cohesion policy investment strategy for the period 2021-2027. The funds will support gender equality and equal opportunities in education and employment by, for example, promoting women's and single parents' access to the labour market. The European Commission has paid more than €3.5 billion in advance payments to Member States to help them manage the arrival of people fleeing the war in Ukraine on their territory. The payments for REACT-EU were made under the EU's Cohesion's Action for Refugees in Europe (CARE).
