Five new Flash Reports prepared by the European Social Policy Network (ESPN) are now available and provide information on recent social policy developments in Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Serbia and Spain.

The European Platform for Investing in Children (EPIC) has published a research note that examines the medium and long-term impact of early childhood education and care (ECEC) provision on education and labour market outcomes for children and parents, as well as the indicators employed for these measurements.

A dual certification courses scheme, funded by the European Social Fund, has helped to considerably reduce the rate of early school leaving in Portugal, which stood at 18.9 % at the beginning of 2014. By the end of 2020, it was 8.9 % – already below the 10 % goal defined by European and national targets set to be achieved in 2023.
