Description
Demographic projections show steep increases of the number of people aged 65, which will lead to an increase in the demand for long-term care. Previous research, albeit limited, as well as stakeholders opinion, have indicated that there is a growing trend towards privatisation, marketisation and transnational provision of formal long-term care services. This external study aims to contribute to a better understanding of the supply structure in the market for long-term services and examines a sample of 16 Member States with a focus on provider structures (for residential care, semi-residential care, and home care).
